Dashboard

Here's what the dashboard looks like after you're logged into Adspy:

How To Find Winning Ads

In this tutorial I will explain you how to find winning ads using AdSpy. For this example I wanna find the best ads for "dresses".

Here's how I setup the filters:

  • Ad Text: dress
  • Total likes: from 5,0000 to 100,000+
  • Order By: Shares
  • Gender: Female
  • Buttons: Shop Now
  • Language: English

And this is what Adspy came up with as results:

Now lets scroll a bit and pick the ones that stands out the most:

  • 1.2 million likes

As you can see, you can understand why these ads go viral. They just look very nice  and appealing.  The ad image is most important success factor it seems. The ad text doesn't really matter.

It took a few seconds to set up the filters and the results came also within a few seconds. You can do this literally with any topic you want, not just dresses.

Adspy is really a powerful and must-have spy tool if you are into e-commerce and/or dropshipping.

Ad Details

Now lets dissect the ad and see what we can do.

You can even view the actual ad on facebook. For example for this ad the link to the facebook ad is:
https://web.facebook.com/104284917742469/posts/146351453535815?_rdc=1&_rdr

And here's what it looks like:

You can verify the numbers are real, these are not fake stats.

When you click on the info icon, it will take you to the ad details page that looks like this:

It contains the following data widgets:

  • Ad
    • Facebook Page
    • Ad Text
    • Title
    • Description
    • Image
    • Landing Page Title
    • Landing Page Description

Landing Pages Screenshots

In this widget you can see all the landing pages that Adspy has seen for this ad. Clicking on it will show a full page screenshot for the ad.

From here you can view the actual landing pages and inspect all the redirect links.

If it's an old ad, then chances are that the actual landing page is not live anymore. If you see some random ads then the domain has probably been expired and then hijacked to run ads on

For recent ads, you can use this to see how they are actually promoting and monetising the ad.

When you see multiple URLs in the outgoing links, that means the advertiser is split testing the landing page. If you are lucky you can see all their variations in the split test.

Technology

This widgets shows a table with technologies that are used by the landing page, such as:

  • Analytics and Tracking
  • Widgets
  • eCommerce
  • Mobile
  • Content Delivery Network
  • Javascript Libraries and Functions
  • Advertising
  • SSL Certificates
  • Web Hosting Providers
  • Name Server

Demographics

In this widget you will see pie charts for the demographic targeting of the ad. Adspy has analyzed what audiences the ad has been targeted to based on the following metrics: Gender, Country and Age Group. The pie charts visualize the percentage breakdown of each demographic that the ad is reaching.

Best Comments

With a simple click it will show the top comments for this ad. It's always interesting to see what makes it stand out the most for the audience. You can use this precious info for your own ad next time.

Label Function

The label function allows you to tag the ads so you can easily find it later in a collection. Think of it as grouping ads that you like.

Sorting Methods

You can sort the ad results in Adspy by one of the following:

  • Date (recent  on top)
  • Date (oldest on top)
  • Likes
  • Love
  • Haha
  • Wow
  • Sad
  • Angry
  • Shares
  • Longest running

To find ads that go viral, you should try Shares, Likes and Longest running.

Adspy Alternatives

Adspy has been a long-standing Facebook ad spy tool, once considered the top option in the market. However, the competitive landscape has shifted as new tools emerge.

Minea and other newer tools now offer more features at lower price points, challenging Adspy's dominance.

Yet Adspy still holds strengths - namely, its unlimited searches for a single subscription cost versus credit-based systems. It remains a robust choice, especially for high-volume users.

When evaluating your options, consider tools like Minea that complement what Adspy lacks. The combination of unlimited searches from Adspy and enhanced features from alternatives may best suit your advertising intelligence needs. Keep an open mind across both newer and established tools in this evolving market.

1. Adspy vs Minea

Read Minea Review

In addition to the Facebook Ads, Minea also provides a search engine for Pinterest and TikTok ads. If you already use Adspy then Minea is a great tool to add to your arsenal to exapand your reach. Minea also has an influencer spy tool, something that Adspy doesn't have. The influencer spy tool allows you to discover promotions made by influencers and search the database for influencers by any market.

You can try Minea right away with 250 ad credits so you have nothing to lose.

Pricing: Both Minea and Adspy offer a trial with free credits. Minea has multiple credit-based plans starting at $49 per month while Adspy has one paid plan for unlimited spying (subject to fair use policy) but comes at a higher price ($99 with coupon code AC25).
